    Thanks for the well wishes, guys. Much appreciated. Any clue what this 250R would/should sell for with the description of the trike above??? I need guidance and your opinion..

    From my research I would say in the range of $2000-$5000 depending on shape and originality. I'm basing this on the Winnipeg market. If for some reason the deal falls through pass on the info as I may be interested. If you do buy congrats and send pics.

    UPDATE - here is what I am going to look at tomorrow. What do you think??? Opinions/comments appreciated. I think with a little detailing she will clean up nicely. Leaving at 2:00AM Saturday morning - 345 miles one way. Plan to be back around 5:00PM. Call me crazy - but I hope it will be worth my while... Regards,,,BK3

    Man thats a sweet trike. I had 2 of those 85 R's and theres nothing like taking it out for the first time and feeling the power hit like everyone talks about, lol. I plan on getting another 85 R when I get the funds togeather, after I fix up my 85 X..

    Once you get use to the powerband hitting, you should jet your needle so when you stab the throttle while rolling in 1st gear, it hits WOT (wide open throttle) and does not flood out or miss from being too rich. Once I did that, my R was so cool in 1 2 3d gear. Nothing like holding it at wot for a few seconds and feeling the power while in a drag race.

    Be sure to run at least 32:1 good quailty 2 stroke oil and would run alot smoother if you ran like 3 gallons of premium to 2 gallons of 110. Best running bike i had was with that mixture and was mostly stock.. You would probably want to check out the reeds and maybe upgrade.. Change that tranny oil and toss on a new spark plug.. Once you do pick up a machine..

    Just stick to the waiting period on this site and get full access, its worth it.. Yeah man you are going to be blown away from the difference in power on those 2 strokes, I was when I first rode one. Gets your heart pumping and you gotta say,

    Left Saturday morning at @ 2:00AM - got back at 5:30PM. Done deal. Parked the 250R next to the 200es in the garage. I am going to bed - those 12 hour driving trips are horrible. BK3

    I know what you mean, I just went on a 12 hour trip last month to pick up my X. That ride home with a new trike is so cool though..

    I think I really lucked out on this 250R - a one owner unit that was not abused in any way. Nothing broken, missing or damaged, all there - not even a rub mark or dent on the skid plates. All original. The only thing I can think of is to replace the original Dunlop tires - but hey, for 29 years old they are still decent/usable. I want to clean and detail the 250R to my specs and post some pics in a new thread when done.

    Not Crazy, That machine will clean up and detail out beautifully, I drove from London to Chicago to pick mine up and they were not as original as yours. You've got something rare there…. A Canadian 250R, with all the reflectors. The US model did not have any of those. I have no idea on price but I do know if it is as complete and original as it looks it wouldn't leave my garage.

    If you paid under $2500 for that 100% original R with toolbox an all, you did very well!

    Congrats on a rare find!

    I have a 200es, and if that is what you are used to, HANG ON! LOL! I'm not trying to scare you so much as prepare you. She will buck you off if you don't ease yourself into it's abilities. Just remember, YOU are in control of the throttle. Break yourself in and get to know it. You will be A-OK.

    Thank-you. Way, way under $2500.00. Took it for a little ride this afternoon (1/2 hour) to get used to the trike and yes it is not the same as my 200es. Totally different beast. Never really got into the throttle and I could tell the difference. Don't laugh but I never got it past 2nd gear. (ahhh, OK you can laugh - I am a 250R NOob.) Here is another thing you can laugh at. Kick start - I am use to electric start on the 200es. Long story short. Nearly broke my leg with my foot slipping and the kickback got me. Very painful but I still love the liquid R. My wife is shaking her head and says "sell it."
