Thought I’d post this up for a health care perspective.
Seems I got a piece if steel stuck pretty good in my iris yesterday. I didn’t find it till this evening and couldn’t pry it out so I drove to the hospital where I have my medical coverage.
I parked in the private lot at 6:50pm, walked up to the reception desk (no line) handed the girl my card, signed my name three times, walked a few feet, sat down and in less than a minute had my vitals checked by a nurse as a doctor asked what happened. 5 minutes later I was seated with an ophthalmologist and 10 minutes after that the chunk of metal was out of my eye. I was back in my truck with an eye patch on and antibiotic drops in my pocket by 7:45.
On the way in and out the doors were opened for me and on the way out everyone said goodbye and told me to get well soon.
I was treated like a paying customer. NEVER was I treated like that in Canada and neither will any of my American friends once Obama care is in full swing.
It cost me about $200 cash, but I can get some of it back if I do a little paperwork for my insurance company, but had I requested to stay overnight it would have been covered 100%.
I LOVE THE PRIVATE SECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
