350x rebuild help

My 85 x has been sitting for about 5 years because of a broken valve. Well I finally got my valves replaced, cleaned everything and put it back together. After kickin it over a few times I got it to fire up for about 10 seconds then it died. It did this a couple times. After I realized im fat and out of shape we tried to pull start it. It would fire up when I popped the clutch but it would bog down if I gave it gas. if I pulled the clutch back in it would die. Then I noticed oil comin from my exhaust. Could there be a problem with the valves I had put in it or is the timing off? Im stumped. Nothing else but the valves were replaced and it ran great before it died. Any help would be helpful before I rip out my hair.

Duh....of all things it was my petcock valve not letting out enough fuel. I tried it on reserve...2 kicks and it fired right up. I guess this is a "Keep It Simple Stupid" moment.
