Yes the 350x engine is just badass for its time. One cam but 4 valves. Then of course next you will want to make that into a 500x. Now we're talkin!
But I still prefer the 200x. So many newer chinese engines will bolt right in, and let's face it, these 30 year old Honda engines, when the bottom ends go, they often cost more to fix than the trike is worth.
Curtie I think a more viable option would be a crf250 motor, i believe it makes more power than either engine you mentioned, although of course not a bolt in operation.
Ol' Duece installed a late 1970's era 175cc Honda 2-stroke dirt bike engine into a 1st gen 200x (if I recall correctly).
And I'm pretty sure member Mart from down under did a late (early 2000's) CR125 transplant into a 200x. I can't remember if that was a 1st or 2nd gen though.
Both of those builds are superbly done and rank top on my list of cool 200x conversions that I would love to do someday.

I think the one you are talking about was a second gen because I think I read up on that build somewhere but I'm not entirely sure.
