Recoil jamming

Hi guys,
Long story short, the recoil pulley on my brother 200s broke a month ago. So, I bought a brand new one on ebay and I've been trying to make it work without any luck.

My problem is that as soon as I put the E-clip back on, everything binds. I can pull the rope out but the 3 teeth wont come out and the rope wont recoil after that. I've tried multiple things like removing copper washers. The only way it moves and works freely is if I remove the top copper washer and put the E-clip only but the clip won't stay there.

Any of you guys had any similar problems with these?

You have the wrong pulley . They came in different thicknesses also the aftermarket ones on eBay are crap , try and fine an oem one for your model .

Any way to modify or grind it to make it work? Used recoil are like 100$ min plus that part was 60$ going to trash if I dont use it...
