82 200e light issue

When I start my 200e the light comes on right away and seems to be at normal brightness. The more gas I give it the dimmer the light gets. At wide open throttle there is almost no light. Anyone know why?

hello;

there's a few ways to check it, here's a couple.

1. unplug voltage regulator

2. on the half of plug that goes to the stator, check ohms or continuity of one yellow wire to ground, it should be 0.

3. check the other yellow wire, it should be 0.

4. set meter to ohms and check from one yellow wire to the other. there should be a reading.

4. set meter to volts, connect meter to both yellow wires, start bike and check voltage at idle and around 1/2 - 2/3rd throttle. if it stays at around 15 or below it is bad.

oops, if the stator is good your regulator is most likely bad.

check all connections and clean as necessary rhen plug it baxk in and retest before buying one.

make sure your battery is good.

Ok. There is I battery right now it's just pull start. Does that affect anything

what is "I" battery?

the test will work whether you have a battery or not.

how long has it had the lite problem?

did you remove the battery?

I bought it with no battery. So I'm not sure
