probably internal rust caused the weakness in that area,,, I think a new rust free frame is in order here,, the reat of the frame is probably the same way.....
Hate to say it but how did you miss it?? That hasn't been there for just a little while!!

Howdy!
I actually did most of the frame crack inspections and engineered repairs on the test bikes at Kawi [Makers of the fastest production 3 wheeler in the universe], and I have never seen an instantaneous catastrophic failure per se. All the cracks start small and get progressively bigger over a period of time. In other words, that started as a small crack like maybe 1/4" long. If you jumped it a lot it might have grown to around 1" or so in a few hours or more. From there it might only take a few hours more to break like it did.
It did not go from 0 to broken in half in just a few hours.
Regular close up inspections are a major safety precaution on a 25 year old dirt bike that has had the bejesus flogged out of it.
I suggest you look around the footpeg area also, they like to crack there if you land hard. Also the steering head. You need very good eyes to see them. The tiny ones look like ultra fine hairline cracks in the paint and it can be very tempting to talk ones self into thinking it is something other than s crack, lol.

Here in the "rust belt" that is common. I have seen a few crack in the same place.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

+1 on getting a whole new frame, that one is gone.
Rust is definitely a contributing factor to these kinds of breaks. I've not had one crack there (yet) but I've got several broke up around the footpeg and swingarm pivot area almost like 350Xs are known for. That's about the 3rd or 4th one I've seen break in that area over the years though.
Triz had gone in the same place, salt water corrosion in the tubes.
Maybe it was ridden by this guy at one time? I get goosebumps every time I watch this.
I bet if you poured water over his head long enough his face would grow roots because he planted it
Get it face plant
