How much is this trike worth? 200x

Im not sure of the year of the trike but its a honda 200s. It runs but idles high. The tires are in decent shape. Check out the picture and let me know what you think. I live in North NJ so there are not many 3 wheeler around. The guy is asking $600but isnt really moving in price.

It just looks like your average old 200x. I'm from a place where 3 wheelers are relatively easy to find for sale. Mine was in better condition and I paid 500. The picture isnt the best, but I dont see anything out of the ordinary other than some of your usual 30 year old wear

Yup I agree. Looks like everything's there just worn out. I'd pay up to a grand for it.

I see them in decent shape everyday on cl for 400-1000. Most of them are listed forever but new ones show up quite often. It's all about supply and demand.

You know there are a lot of variables to buying that trike..the one that immediately pops to mind is the kicker gear function. Since it's a chronic problem on that model for them to wear out and a really big fix!! If that sucker even gives a hint at slipping when it's kicked..walk away!!!

Secondly when I'm looking at a trike listed on CL I usually make my decision before I even get into my truck to go pick it up..

A lot of things help me make this decision..but one of them is the pics the person posted. If there is big piles of crap in the background behind the trike I'm going to see, then it's generally pretty safe to guess that the machine hasn't seen a lot of attention or maintenance. I mean if he has a yard full of crap that looks like it's been rode to death and left to rot, then the trike has probably been treated the same..

Is this guys last name Sanford by chance?? Nah, nah, nah-nah..

You could be walking into a major pile of work to fix up..but that is just my opinion and food for thought!!

It's what's it worth to you. It's a 30 year old machine and will need to be gone through so the question is how bad do you want it .

Looks to me like its missing several things. Not positive but it looks like the left peg is missing and I'm almost sure the engine skid plate is gone.

Its rusty and dirty, and as Doug said there's a pile of junk surrounding it. If the guy wants 600 dollars you would think he could spray it off and wheel it out of the junk pile.

Probably one of those where you get there and he says "well it was running great yesterday, I don't know why it wont start today."

There are better deals out there, but 600 isnt total robbery, just based on parts value.

Id pay 350 for it, but theyd have to deliver it

I ended up paying $500. I got it home and i took it apart and it now runs good. The tires are brand new and there holeshot itps. I noticed it was leaking from the gas tank and i took it off and there are small holes in the tank. I sanded it down and put liquid metal on it i think that should work. The rear and front master cylinder are frozen on it.

FYI if "Liquid Metal" is like JB Weld, Quick Steel, and other similar products it wont hold gas for long. I've try a couple times and they never held fuel for more then a week or two before leaking all over the garage floor.

I'd go over them again with solder if you have a small soldering iron and then sand the welds down and paint it.

Otherwise for $500, you can't go wrong. Sounds like you got a nice deal.

At least you did not pay $1000 for it. Here's one example of what's listed in the pacific nw:

$400 and it comes with a bunch of parts.
