250x
I am thinking about buying a 4 wheeler. I found a good deal on a new 2012 250x. I was considering buying a used 400ex but I don't want something that someone beat the crap out of. I assume there wouldn't be much maintenance on a 250x? I just want something to ride around on. I don't do anything crazy.

I've been riding my boss's 08 TRX250EX around here for a few weeks now, even to work and back a few times. Altho the stock rear tires do some funny things at speed, such as grow, I cannot find a single bad thing to say about it.
No one had maintained it in over a year, and nothing really needed to be done to it, just oil and filters. Valves are still in spec, and the diff fluid looks great still! These machines are your basic ride it and forget it, brainless rigs. I love em.

Sounds like it's exactly what I'm looking for.

My sister has one, and, I'd honestly be very happy to have just that to ride. Came with a Pro Circuit T4 slip on, DG Alloy nerfs, and a K&N filter with Outerwears. It's got a pair of balls on it! For a little 229cc quad it is a little beast. Has no problem flying around with me on it (6', 200lbs with riding gear). Only things I've added to it are; ASR +2 arms, steel braided brake lines, Banshee front shock out back, and Tusk billet +3.5" wheel hubs out back. Swapped in some 4 ply Duro Berm Raiders in the rear, and it's a whole new bike.

Hey my 200x has a 229cc engine does that make it a 250x too?!?!
Never heard of a trx250x, is the motor similar to the cr230f engine? If so it would be another option for the 200x trike!
Whoa OK I just did some research on the motor its not the same.
Longitudinally mounted air cooled overhead Valve 229cc five speed with reverse. Interesting.

It was built off the Recon, I think, as an entry level sport quad.

That it was. The little sucker has some balls though.

Coolest thing about it is the sport clutch. Manual when you want it to be, semi-auto when you don't!
