    more '85 X issues

I've been developing a list of issues with my '85 200X.
If you have an answer, just post the # and your solution.

1.) Tank has rust holes(a lot) around the bottom, previous owner tried patching with JB weld.

2.) Transmission has like a 1/4 rotation with off and in gear, is that normal?

3.) When you pop the clutch in, and rev it a couple of times, it starts rolling forward, is that normal?

4.) Rear sprocket bolts are tight, but it still wiggles some.

5.) Rear sprocket mount has wiggle on the splines.

6.) Rear end makes some gawd awful noise at first, sometimes stops, sometimes doesn't.

    Thanks in advance guys.

the sprocket wiggle & sounds like you have wear on the sprocket hub is egged out(or your axle's splines are worn away) .
The clutch sounds like the pull arm is not in the correct position, check the clutch arm, you're prob'ly going to have to take it off the splined shaft & turn it a little - my 350X was doing the same thing & it was because the clutch arm was in the wrong position, I.E., it was kind of "in gear" with the clutch pulled in, & in neutral when released.
Good luck & let us know what you come up with.
