250r aftermarket carrier bearing size question???

so I have an unknown brand name aftermarket alum. duel bearing carrier for my 85 250r. The carrier had 2 6908-2rs bearing on each side, 4 total. I purchased an all ballz Honda kit that has just the 2 extra wide bearings. although the wide bearings are wider than a single , they are not quite as wide as 2 single 6908 bearings combined. Im worried that the extra "slack" that the adjuster nut will have to take care of will be to much and the whole set up will be loose. I don't want to waste the new bearings by installing them if this is the case. Has anyone every run into this, replacing 2 regular bearings (4 total) with the 1 wide bearing (2 total)??? Any experience shared would be great! thanks

Every dual row carrier I have ever serviced only had the single wider bearings in them. Most people never find the correct replacements in stock so they substitute them with 4 6908's. If you look close enough the inner 6908's will most likely not contact the axle journal. So if it was indeed built for the dual row bearings by using 4 oem size bearings would only be for spacing purposes and improper installation by a previous owner.
That is not saying for sure those double wides will work, but they should, unless someone modded the carrier at some point, or it is some real old school carrier that I have never seen use 4 bearings.. All you can do is install them and hope for the best.
As far as the brand you purchased i have used them on all my dual row set-ups without issues. However, you may want to refer to this post before you install them to be safe.
As far as I know the dual rows will not fit in an OEM carrier. They are not machined deep enough.
