Cool 1984 ytm 225dx carb rebuild kit HELP

I need to rebuild the carb on my 1984 ytm 225 DX I know its a minkuni vm22 but can't find a kit for it I read through many previous threads on this sight saying to use a kit from a timber wolf but what year?? And the most recent post's where about 4 years old . what I need to know is what year timber wolf and what parts do I need to save from the old carb ( jets, floats, needles, etc ) or can I buy a different carb like a keihin or something else that will work. any help would be appreciated this thing is my work horse for around the yard. And if anyone who might have a decent one laying around who lives in the NH area would would like to trade out one for some DX parts let me know I have a entire parts rig .

any year timberwolf carb kit will work and the only thing you can't use is the jets as they are larger!!! I think you can use a carb kit from a moto-4 250 carb kit and you can use the jets and everything!

I just did mine for the 85 DXN... I got the stuff from Partzilla... I had to order everything separately. there was a guy who had a kit for like 65 bucks on eBay but it sold just before I was gonna finally go buy it....lol how's the card you have? why do you want to rebuild it, ? can it just be cleaned? just be careful with the O-rings, if they are still good you should be ok with just cleaning everything.. unless your needle valve set up is bad... you may even find some new stuff for it on eBay. go to partzilla, look at the part breakdown and drawing for your cab, figure out what you need, then do a search for them by part number on eBay, be careful though, some of the items on eBay that are listed for your trike may be incorrectly listed and may not fit.

here's the link to your trike... http://www.partzilla.com/parts/searc...DXL/parts.html

The best way to go is to buy the Moose kit off DennisKirk.com, https://www.denniskirk.com/moose/car...prd/172169.sku, it's a 1992 Timberwolf kit. You can buy the OEM main jet from rockymountainatv.com for a good price. The Timberwolf main jet that comes with the kit is actually smaller. I however bought a larger than stock main jet from www.pjmotorsports.com.

I noticed when buying my parts from Partzilla.com, they offered two main jets:

    620-14231-22-A0
    JET, MAIN (110)
    ALT. PART FOR DRY TYPE

    OR.....

    15 620-1423A-73-00
    JET, MAIN (112.5)
    STD FOR WET TYPE
What's "wet type and dry type" Mean? I used the 112.5 jet in mine.

order the 250 timberwolf rebuild kit. If you need new jets order a 112.5 main and i believe a 25 pilot jet. It cost me like 15 bucks to rebuild my carb but i also used a jet kit for the new jets and that cost me 30
