    picked up my first 250es

although i've come so close to buying one before, for one reason or another it just didn't happen until today, actually i'll be getting a second one before the deal is done, not nearly as nice as this one, but has a few parts on it that are needed to make this one even better, so once all the good parts are swapped around to make a very nice one, the other will be sold, it still runs and works great as is, but it will be getting a good go-over, i had called the seller about a very nice 250sx, but he had a deal already in the works on it, but he said he had two 250 big reds, which was more in the line of what i wanted anyways, so i traded my nice 300ex that i never rode anyway for both and just a little cash, which i should recoup once the other sells, just glad to have one............finally.............................Click image for larger version.

i was a little bummed to let go of my 97 300ex, only because it was in super all original condition, but where i ride, it just wasn't practical, so i let it go, seams like all the 250 big reds that would come up for sale in nice condition and priced reasonably were just too far away, these two were only about ten miles away so both the seller and i could see the wheelers with out much run around, which made this deal work for me and him, i'll get some more pics up later today.............

Hey - same thing happened to me!
I wanted a '85 to '87 Big Red, got in too much of a hurry, and now I have three '85's in my garage!
And I still have my 1984 Big Red!
I'm not sure I need four Big Reds, may sell a few....
...but then I paid waaaay too much for one of them, am replacing parts to make it worth what I'd ask for it, but parts are expensive....

I did replace the headlight bulb in one of my Big Red's with a 9003 "Sylvania Silverstar Ultra" bulb, fit right in place of old bulb.
    BIG difference in light output!
Was available at Oreilly's Auto and Advance Auto Parts.

for me it started with a call on what looked to be a very nice 250sx with a nice hondaline rear rack that was listed very close to me on c-list, seller listed it for sale or trade and his asking price was right near what i would have asked for my nice 300ex that i never road anyway, when i called he had a deal already in the works for the sx, but said he had two big red 250's, we struck a deal, i then went over to my neighbors and bought his old big red 250, i should be able to make two real nice ones, and one good workhorse with the other which is the plan at this point............

thanks, this one has Carlisle trail wolfs, gotta watch though, if not a little over inflated on the front, they'll rub the front fork boots, they clear with about 3.5/4.0 psi, not what i want, but they were on it when i got it so i'll deal with it, other wise they're very nice tires..............
