Honda Atc 200X 200S 185S carb jet question

Need some help on my 200X...

Built an auto-X with rebuilt 200S motor, I have and '83 185S carb using standard carb rebuild kit. I had 100 main jet and 40 idle jet (wouldn't idle was too rich). Adjusted up/down on the slide still seemed too rich. Then to decrease fuel... put in 98 main jet and 35 idle jet. My air fuel mixture screw I've adjusted from 1 3/4 turn (early 185S) to 2 1/4 for (later 200s) still getting same results. And my intake doesn't leak any air.

Other info: motor is .040" over new everything and I have a rebuilt supertrapp running 12 disks. I had less in 8 but later added more for noise. Obviously as exhaust is added jet needs to get bigger but its too rich going smaller on jets which tells me something ain't right. Casting looks fine on carb, has new intake gaskets and hooked to stock airbox with uni.

If anybody can pin point what I'm missing it would be appreciated

    I ran a 110 and a 35 on my 40 over motor on a 200x, it needed it with a full exhaust.

Oh ok. Guess I'll try that tomorrow then, thanks. And for the slide pin... you still left it in the middle?

Did you replace the needle and seat when you rebuilt the carburetor ?
Also how's the spark ? A weak stator wont deliver enough spark to the plug and make it seem like a carb issue .

I always leave slides in the middle, they get to tricky if you go up or down.

Yes needle/seat are also new. Spark is good, new NGK dR8EA (I think) one that all the 185/200s uses. Plug wire and coil are also brand new.

Ok good to know. Ya I agree, you're pretty much guess at that point.
