    Clark tank-350X

Considering going with a white plastic tank on one of my 350x's instead of repainting the the original one. Has anyone got one on their X ?. How is the fit and finish ?, Are they glossy or dull ?.. Can you see the gas through the tank ?.

I also see they sell the sticker kits on their website. They don't say if they are designed for use on plastic tanks, but I would assume they are.
    Has anyone tried them ?.

    How about the IMS tanks?.

I have a black clark on my wheels. It is glossy and matches my maier plastics very well. Only problem with the white plastic is you will have yellowing start on it. As for decals I doubt they are made for the plastic tanks.

I have a XL600 3 wheel conversion white Clark tank with original 350x Honda winged decals on it, have had no problem peeling. Plastic is too thick to see fuel level, unless shinning a flashlight across opposite tank side. Bought the tank back in 1990.

I do not like Clarke - fit or finish. The IMS is expensive but I have no yellowing 8 years later and it fits great and holds 3 gallons or so.......

I am kinda anal about how things look. I don't wan't something that doesn't look good. The whole trike is getting restored, the metal tank needs some small dents taken out and painted and someone coated the inside of the tank and now the coating is falling apart. So by the time I get it all re-done I am sure I'll have more into it than a plastic tank costs. But, If the plastic tanks don't look good and don't fit well I'd rather restore the old one. That's why I'm looking for feed back on the tanks.

If you make it a rider go IMS.

If you want it PERTY, fix the OEM tank.....

Not sure if any of these pics help but I have a Clarke on my 85 350X. I'm not sure how old it is. It was on the 86 when I bought it (same tank in all these pics). I think it's an old one.

It's a little faded, slightly yellowed, fits fine, does not leak. The red stickers are Ebay specials and bubbled on the first ride.

The "patina" matches the aged OEM plastics and is actually the reason I don't replace the plastics. Stupid reason but, whatever...

I already bought a new white Clarke for the 86 when it goes back together with new Maier plastics. It's still in the bubble wrap.

You can remove the yellowing with wet sandpaper 1200 grit and simple green. Its plastic. No rust.....
Decals wont hold up. They are lighter than metal. Any weight you can shed will help pull you ahead
on accel but some just like the stock metal tanks, its up to you.........
