Look into the TPC gusset kit. I personally have no clue if you should find a new frame or not, but for future use you should gusset your frame. Do you have access to a welder and experience doing so? It's fairly easy from what I hear.

Very very common right there. Mine is the same way. One day I will buy a titled frame and gusset it up and put it together that way. But for now it works!

A good donor frame is just the ticket..a gusset kit, blast and powder.

A crap welding job and that thing is looking pretty tweaked on top of it..probably does circles to the left all by itself!! Certainly wouldn't be trying any shenanigans on that machine!!

    Hope you didn't over pay...

It looks like your frame is trashed to me. At least from the pic. They are tough to straiten, I've tryied. Time to start looking for a replacement. Most all the 85X frames will be cracked, no biggie if you can weld, but they need to be gusseted in a few areas.

    350X much more than 250R.

I sent the frame from my 85 to TPC for the gusset install. The frame was not cracked but was twisted around the rear subframe. TPC fixed it for me.

Shipping was a pain and not cheap.

For my 86 I bought the TPC kit and worked with a guy locally to install. The frame was OK going in.

i paid 500$ for the 350x knowing the frame was tweaked.i want a second frame to restore from. The bike actually rides just fine the way it is bent. I took it out today for about two hours and it sure felt good its been almost a year since my last trike ride.

My '85x was cracked or broken in 7 places, but was strait. My '86x is not cracked but is twisted in the neck/backbone area and the rear subframe was bent, not bad but bad enough to bug the crap out of me. MY point being that both years are weak. The 85's would crack so Honda beefed up those areas for 86. Then they just bent before they cracked. The 250r frames are a much better design and are much stronger.

The weld you are showing isn't that bad it just has some buildup. If that's the only repair, its really not that bad because there are a lot of damaged 350x frames out there. Make sure its not the swingarm that's bent as well. Pressure and heat will bend your frame back in to shape.

thanks for the input everyone. Its definitely the frame that's bent not the swingarm. Like i said the bike rides fine it just bugs me I want a second frame anyway and i can ride it like it is for the time being.
