    Headlight stopped working

Hey guys long time since ive been on here last, got my 310r running mint but im having a problem. I decided to play it safe and get a egt gauge (and it would look badass) so I tried to wire it up to the headlight power because its 12v and it didnt light up so I disconnected it and did more research, but when I connected the headlight wires back without the gauge I had no lights, not even the tail light was lighting up. Is there some sort of in line fuse I popped because of the extra load of the gauge? Does anyone have experience installing egt gauges on atvs or atcs?

It sounds like your regulator is bad causing an over voltage taking the lights out. The only way to know is put a meter on the light wire and see how much AC voltage is being produced. The regulator caps the voltage at about 13.6vac with the motor reved. The output is variable from about 12.5vac upwards. If the regulator is bad, it will be well over 13.6vac. Start there.

Meter set on AC. One lead on frame ground and the other on the light wire (try brown). Its hot whenever the light switch is on.
