Not a huge quad fan, but I have a good opportunity to pick up a New 2014 YFZ450R (ORANGE) for $8000 out the door! Just wondering if any of you guys thought this was a good deal or not. Don't know much about them but thought I'd might pick it up so my trike has a friendAny thoughts? Good idea or not?

When I got my yfz in 03 I paid more than that. The yfzr has many improvements over mine when I bought it. Thats not a bad deal on a great quad that is outta the box race ready.

you express dought and in this case why would you spend 8 grand on something your really not into that much? Seems like a stupid idea to me.

If you're R is lonely, spend $2K on a nice 350X and put $6K in your pocket.
Or spend the $8K building a TPC if you're so inclined.
On the other hand, if that YFZR is anything like the one I chased around the Kermit dunes last August, it's a NICE machine. Wide track. Upgraded shocks. F-A-S-T.
