First time ride on the YTM200EL

    I am a proud Big Red owner (84 200es).

The other day I bought a YTM200EL for a steal. After cleaning the carb I took it for the first spin.

Is the chirping from the rear tires normal when downshifting on pavement?

I have to say, I'm not a fan. The big red has lots more low end power and the Yamaha shifting seems so unnatural after being accustomed to the red.

I have an 84 yamahauler and it too seems to be lacking in bottom end. I do have a lot of fun on it though and have had it up hills that had my hands shaking by the time i got to the top lol. Yesterday at the fair we had mud drags and i put the fair queen on it and sent her through. She got done and said she like three wheelers more than quads now.

I am kicking around cleaning her up the rest of the way and selling or trading for a 110 for the kids

    Have you experienced the chirping?
