ATC70 Recoil Parts Mismatch

I appear to have some mismatched parts here, and I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out what to change to make it work. The recoil dogs don't reach the ring at all. Can I just space out the ring, or is there a better choice? I didn't even know there were different recoil combinations for these.

Forgive my crappy ruler, the measurement doesn't start at the end, so you have to add about 5mm to whatever you see.

You can space it out with no problem.

There are short and tall recoil cases. The switch was 83 I think but I'm too lazy to do the research. I think all the rest of the parts are the same but again I'm too lazy to do the research.

Seriously, that's what I was thinking, I just wasn't sure it was safe to space out the ring.
