I've used a ATV lift with a milk crate under the front tire when I have the rear axle removed. I've also used dirt bike stand and jack stands with a milk crate under the front tire. Each option has a best application.

I have a quad stand (I think it was specifically designed for a TRX250R). It is basically just 2 aluminum "X"s held together at the top with two straps. It is very easy to get the trike up on it. You stand the trike up on it's grab bar, you slide the stand under, then you let it down on it. As the foot pegs catch the stand, it "hooks" on the back bar and rotates right up on it. Works great, and it gets it about 28" off the ground. I hate working on my trikes when they are on the floor, makes my back hurt just thinking about it.
