Brought home another Commuter Sasquatch 340

I am my own worst enemy.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy any more trikes untill I get the Taurus parts thing done...
But when I saw the listing I caved.

Overall the trike is in good shape. No reverse lever on this one like the last one I got.
I had to tinker with it a little to get things working smoothly, but it was worth it.
Unfortunetly some mods have been done to it, such as a headlight, mudflap weights and the shocks were
removed and replaced with stiff metal bars...

So I fixed the throttle assy and carb. I will be putting in the battery later tonight and swap the shocks from one of the grangers to put on this running ride.

Overall, it was a good deal. It will be one of the least costly when restoring it.

We disscussed about actually.It's a shame it has been left outdoors.Was in excellent shape not long ago.They are asking $500 now.The plastic is weathered now.When I went and looked at it was told,was hoping for a Taurus.Someday I might find one.

thats a nice one once you get the 380 clone done youll have the full set wont you? 380,390,granger,sasquatch as well as their predecessor the pacesetter-- too cool BUT there may be one more out there, that may not be documented was cheaper model with a tecumseh motor ,chain drive, stamped steel rear axle housing was told it was not at all impressive. the good is, only about 1000 units were made but dont know what they were called

But yea, other than learning to work with fiberglass. The restoration of these machines should be easy. I am planning to make a vacuum forming table to make the plastic parts
unless I find a cheaper way.

The master plan is to cover the Pacesetter & Commuter line. The list should be as follows... (am I am writing this out with guessing what order they came out by comparing parts.)

- Pacesetter WR-P III
- Pacesetter WR-SP III
- Commuter TE380
- Commuter TE390 - Early Model
- Commuter TE390
- Commuter Granger 340
- Commuter Sasquatch 340

I am however unsure if the Commuter TE390 had the plastic tank off the hop. It may have been changed to a larger tank in the later models or sold as a replacement or upgrade.

Under the black or orange shroud that looks like the fuel tank, there is a generic metal tank on both pacesetters, Commuter 380 and early 390.
The Later 390, granger and sasquatch all upgraded to plastic tanks. High quality UV resistant ones too.
I am heading to the storage unit later today, I can take pics to show ya.

certainly dont mean to sound like i know for sure but i would say the tank cover is most likely what was mentioned as far as commuters go he didnt work for pacesetter but there isn't much variation my handle controls are just left brake lever and what seems like a brake lever that was used for throttle not what it should have just some of that "southern engineering" to get by. key switch and light switch (push-pull) on left frame brace below tank dont know if 380 had hi/low
