    Yes, that was the practice early on. I didnt drill all the way through I didnt want to weaken the frame that much because I still rode in the dunes as well as sand drag it.Click image for larger version.

    Thanks,Im in the process of building a 1 gallon aluminum under seat reserve tank and moving the silencer inside the frame rails ,like a sport bike. will post pics when complete.
