    1987 Big Red

Know it's really late (2 years ago) but here is my 87 250es. Got it for $300, from a local farmer, low hours machine. Original owner according to Honda's records was Ky Fish and Wildlife (I work at a Honda dealer, with the VIN I can look up last reported owner Honda has on record.) Seat recovered by Cosmic Quads, and she did an awesome job

Found a fella locally who powder coats just about anything. So that'll be my next step, then some new handlebars. Originals were bent so I replaced them with a newer quad set which were bent but just so. It's noticeable, and drives me nuts.
On a side note, does anyone have an idea what would make the back of the front fender rub the front of the frame? Front end was tweaked when I bought it, twisted it back around, but i'm thinking this is still the cause of my interference.

    How many survived?
    Under 5,000?
I found one a few yrs ago.
Now sure why but it rides so much differently than the others.

Did you say you bought it for $300 or $3000? Must be a typo...

What is a nice 87 worth, I know where a mint one is for a reasonable price, 4 hour drive is the only thing holding me back.

$300 is correct. I was looking for a 250 for awhile, and couldn't pass this one up. Was on the fence until I saw the tag said 87, couldn't get the cash outta my hand and the trike in my truck fast enough.

I'll go get it for you.
No really, the 87 rides differently than any other of the 250 models.
More like a Cadillac. I have NO idea why but I'm comparing to
1,2,3,4,5,6 7 other 250 sx and es models. Mostly 1985 vintage.
