*** 1985 Honda ATC250R rear tire question ***

Good day, all.

Rear tires on my '85 250R - Dunlop KT557A - have X324 on one & X254 on the other - I am guessing date codes (???). How is this deciphered??? Thanks in advance. BK3

Look at last 3 or 4 digits. The first 1 or 2 are week tires were made last 2 numbers are the year. Example 2585 that means tires were made on 25th week of 1985 here's another one 0485 that is 4th week of 1985

am I correct in assuming that mine would read 32nd week of 1984 and 25th week of 1984??? The first digit is a "X". Build date is 09/1984 on the build tag on the frame.

Was it common to have a "X" as the first digit for date codes on some Dunlop KT577A tires???
