85 bigred and 300 trx question?

got a question for yall.

would a rear shock off a 99 trx 300 honda fix a 85 honda bigred?

there on ebay for 50 bucks new. found out the other day. that ours was bad shock wont return on its own.

so would it work?

I don't know for sure, but looking at a few photos on Google, the 1999 trx300 shock looks more likely to fit a 250sx instead of a 250es.
