Finally Found my self a 70!

I finally manged to talk my buddies grampah into selling me this gem. It's been sitting in his barn for 13 years collecting dust. Shes a little rough but you gota start somewhere right? as most of you know 70's are hard to find so u cant really complain about the condition when you do find one. This will be a slow project but she will run again!

thats a decent start. i see the fender is making contact with the head bolts tho. so the frame is bent. but what ive read thats an easy, and common fix for these lil guys. i have 2 70's and 1 of mine are bent as well. curious to see what you do with this one

hey thanks guys! plans are to do a full stock restoration on it, then hang it up on the wall next to the 110 till I have kids, haha. and I took a look at the frame last night and it doesn't appear to be bent, looks like just the fender is pushed back a bit.

nope, the neck is bent. take the tank off and look at the main tube underneath. you will see a buldge....

mine is same way. its hondas version of high speed forks... forks too hard to bend so....

loving the rear wheels and tires!!

Use a straight edge to check, put it on the top of the frame tube were the tank sits. The frame being bent on these is pretty common and is an easy fix. Coolpool posted some pics in the thread below, post 11.

Quick update: got it running today and took it up and down the driveway. Tranny shifts good and she doesn't even smoke! Think the motor is in pretty good shape. But you guys were right, after closer inspection the frame does have a slight bend but should be able to straighten it out in the press when I get her all torn down. Thanks to stoshu for hooking me up with some tires, carb and exhaust. Here's a pic of my main project I'm trying to get finished. 1967 international pickup. Getting it ready for paint.
