'85 Big Red got it rolling

Okay I went to an '85sx headlight instead of the '86. Red and black is the color scheme and 1985 is the year. Bringing it back with a modern twist. I have some 200x parts forks on the way from that year and they have the black bottoms, new black boots. I will eventually pull the motor out and hit the frame with some fresh gloss to cover up the brown that the PO just had to use. Also just picked up a 1st gen 250r rear shock & cylinder that looks like it will mount up. I guess we will just have to see.

The 1st gen 250r shock bolted right up but was too short and made the machine unlevel. I have a few other options I am going to try and will post results accordingly.



I like the way the black fork sliders and boots came out.

Come a long way and it's looking good. I love the Bear Klaws, I put them on my 84' ES. I'm about to start an 85' build soon and I'm thinking that I may go ahead and put the Bear Klaws on that too. Also, I like the idea of the Red boot covers. May be my choice as well.

Yeah it's hard to beat the claws. Your '84 looks like an animal. I like the camo. My real utility trike is my yamahauler. Nothing real special about it but it always starts and never leaves me stranded. It was crusty yellow at one time, but it somehow got a 1942 allied forces paint job. Now it's a soldier and never quits.
