Here's a tire I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to purchase. The previous owner/rider is a well known master pipe builder.
Here is Kenny Roberts at his craft.
This tire was mounted on Kenny's ATC 250R for quite a while. I saw a picture of it and new it was special due to the red/pink-ish stripe on the side wall. I'm told by a former team rider that color signifies extra plies in the tire. This is a sneaky trick works tire that reads 23.5X8-11, but is fat and lower profile while still being for a stock rim. The very outer most nobbies were buffed off to help clear the forks. Here it is compared to a stock Ohtsu. This tire never had dimples like a stocker, only 3 narrow wear dimples. The tire does have wear and a little bit of dry/weather cracking, but I was real happy to persuade it off Kenny's bike. I traded him a NOS tire to keep his machine track worthy. Thanks Kenny!

Please, please, pics! Always want to see more hand cut team tires!!
Oh Pete, its been over five years since I've ridden a three wheeled R. Sad to say, but they never stay put together here. I always start to build a "rider", then several years later it's beyond the original intention. Still got one spare, I'm slowly trying to build the theoretical "rider". I'm planing a trip soon to CA to stay with Kenny and Rob for a week or so. I can grill Kenny on the performance factor since he'll have had a stock tire for a while........ Gosh, it would be fun to take a couple bikes to Ashtabula and "play" race in full retro Hondaline gear.
Or better yet, get somebody who could show full potential.
