Ytm200ern how to test the neutral light and reverse lights?

i just bought this little trike and am planning on getting it going again and giving it a good makeover and clean up to use around the farm. when I turn the key on the green or red lights never come when I shift from know neutral or shift to reverse any ideas.

requires a battery for those lights to be brightly lit, when just idling, also the check the bulbs, and the sensors. Your electric start will not crank over if you're not in neutral.

Yeah I had a battery hooked up. The headlight worked but never seen the red or green lights, I'll have to check those bulbs and follow the wires to the sensors.
