I like the sticker, we used to get blank white stickers from Office Max and write stuff on them with a black sharpie and slap them on our buddies bikes right before the race.

My favorite was a sticker I made for my buddies, sons bike it said- Today We Will Except NO GURLY MEN! He won the race. Same kid except I wrote-
You know you get to kiss the trophy girl if you win! He won the race. Or- You know you are faster than these guys, they are only fast at video games! Another win.

    Racing is fun!

ok you are going to LOL at me, but i am already thinking about next year and the season just started!!! LOL. He is going to have to run an even bigger class next year due to age and drop the lesser one we run now. so time for a BB 105cc setup for next engine build!

    Here's some ideas-

Or I would sleeve down this- (If it's legal)

when you say sleeving it down, does that mean running the longer stroke with a smaller piston? is that recommended? I am only asking because I have heard 2 different stories. 1 it works great and another is shorten the rod/stroke and leave piston size the same. then deck everything down to fit. what are your thoughts?

I don't know how this will compare to modern 125s, but I had a 82 RM125 I rescued from a wreckers with a Wiseco 100cc debore kit. It screamed on the top end scream like a TAG kart and had absolutely zero bottom end. How it would work with a modern powervalve motor, again I don't know.

I've ridden KTM 105s before, and they're almost as fast as a KTM 125 in stock trim.

You could sleeve the cylinder down, but getting the power valve (Depending on the engine brand) would be some custom work, they do it in go cart racing, but because they are set-up for top end most guy eliminate the power valve and run slugs that can be adjusted off the track.

The best way to go is to de-stroke the crank, all of this will be expensive and I would only do it if you were starting "Ground up".

The advantages would be a bigger carb, better ignition, better power valve set-up, better port set-up and reed block, stronger transmission and clutch, more parts availability, ETC.

I think you are close enough to build a 144cc-200cc engine in the future (When Austin moves up) and sell off what you have in a kit for the next up and coming racer or build a new quad and sell that one as a turn-key racer.

You are correct, but if you make them equal and put a KTM 105 in a KTM 125 chassis and race it against a KTM 125 things change quickly!

In Europe they race 80cc-105cc engines in enduros and grass track motocross in a 125cc chassis and the rules are pin the throttle wide open, grab gears and adjust with clutch fanning.

I used to live close to the Barker brothers, who imported TM Motorcycles. They had an 85 enduro like that, with Paioli forks :crazy : . It was not designed for someone 6'5!

Those TM's are bad , but to get them to go at a pro level they sound like a sewing machine hooked to 480 volts and a NOS bottle for good measure!

I love TM's! that new 300 is sick!

I have talked to Oscar Mayer about TM's and a few other exotics, but he likes something you can get parts for easier, I don't blame him, I have missed a few races back in the day racing exotics, but man are they fun!..Nothing like smoking the field on a brand nobody ever heard of. Bellissimo!

Don't get me started on the Bultaco Cemoto, now Gas Gas. or the Italiano Beta's

Paioli forks, KYB internals stock, works forks! set-up with poor Euro settings.
