    Junkyard deal of the day!

This summer I received a call from my "eyes" up at the local junk yard about an atv frame and motor that went across the scale. I work a half mile away so I ride my 350x over to go check it out. Turns out to be an unknown frame with an 85 350x motor with a supertrapp pipe on it! I instantly want it and offer $50 cash. Sadly the yard owner thought he wanted it so I left my name and number in case he wanted to sell. I drive by everyday and see that frame and motor with supertrapp sitting in the door of a hoop shed. Fast forward to today and I notice the scrap yard is selling cars on a swap page so I leave a message asking about the atv frame, get a call back and the owner said I could have it for $50. I drive over and drag it through the mud to my truck and loaded it up! The owner thought I was patient enough and knew I wanted it so finally decided to let it go.

Anyone know what atv frame it is? Motor turns freely so there is hope for that at least.
The supertrapp is in good shape, can't wait to put it on my 350x!

I think that's an '80's or early 90's Yamaha Warrior frame. The dual headlights mounted low and the shock are leading me to this. HOwever I am not seeing that bracket on the subframe that is in the Warrior pic with all the holes in it. Yours does not have that:

Are the warrior headlights in decent shape? If so, interested in parting with them? I need to retrofit some new beams onto the oddy 350...

They looked alright. The tops appeared warped or kinda bubbled. I'll take some pictures and test them for you tomorrow Thorpe.

It has a AMP Research chain torque eliminator on it.

Those are getting rare and are very cool!
Designed by Horst Leitner of the Scott/PBH/ATK motorcycle fame, great guy too.

I saw that and knew it was some aftermarket thingy, wasn't sure what it did. Do they work well?

Do you have a use for the frame after you take the pipe and engine?

They work very well, but they are not for everyone.

The AMP link is supposed to keep the drive chain a constant tension throughout the rear wheel travel.
A self proclaimed trike "expert" over here told me he was going to get one for his ATC70. "your ATC70 does not have rear suspension, Scott" I said. "So?" he said.

Must be like stickers, adds horsepower. So would it be worth a shot at attempting to fab it up to my 350x? I don't do any racing or or mx'ing, just trails and pasture banging around. Hopefully find some dunes at some point as well. I have a +4 swinger on there if that makes a difference.

If you decide to get rid of the frame and parts, I could use the chassis, swinger, axle, all of it really. I'm in central iowa. So if you want it gone let me know. Thanks
