    85/86 250R axle clip collar

Since these seem hard to find does anyone have a solution if you don't have this collar? Or does anyone have one theyd give up, gathering some parts for a project. Number 15 in this blow up http://www.servicehonda.com/parts/lo...HA2FHA28F1300A (wouldnt let me upload pic)

I had a 250x years ago that i had that issue with. I made a spacer on the back side of the threaded collar about 3/16 thick to bring the nut out far enough to hit the snap ring and then some, then I dremmeled a bevel on the inside edge of the outer nut to slide over and catch or retain the snap ring and go over it then tightened it down like normal. This was back when you had to wait 2 weeks to get stuff from a dealer. It wont work unless you space the rotor side of the threaded sleeve. I had to ride that weekend, it held up great and I forgot all about it 2 years later until I took it apart for bearing replacement in which then I had the parts I ordered a few years prior.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

As I vaguely recall I think I have a 400EX nut on my 350X - the nut and collar are one piece.

The new Honda part is the collar built into the nut #14 doing away with the collar your talking about altogether. If you are doing a perfect resto its going to be hard to find that collar in good shape .
