1985 atc 250 sx problem please help!!!

Hi everyone , I am having a problem with my trike 85 250sx ... just finished redoing the motor new timing chain and centrifugal clutch bearing. When I started it up sounded like it did 30 yrs ago put it on reverse to get out of the garage . Put it in first gear and thats when my smile dropped lol it revs up but goes about 2 mph . I thinking mabee on the manual clutch, I tighted the springs too much or not enough .... in the manual im not to shure of the explanation can anyone tell me how to tighten the 4 springs/bolts ???? .... I got pics of what I found in the manual but not shure I understand spring torque rating .... if someone can help me it would be very appreciated thank you.

Follow the manual to adjust the clutch. The clutch bolts you mention get tightened to 7-9lbs. There is an adjustment on the clutch cover. Loosen the locknut, turn the screw CCW until resistance is felt then back the screw off CW 1/4 turn and lock it down. Try that and see if that helps.

    Does it look like this?

I did the same thing, only for me I had put to many of the discs, and plates in.
You may want to check and make sure that you have not accidentally done the same thing.
