This story starts out when one day I was just out putting around my track with a friend and broke a piston. Now with the bike down and winter soon approaching, I thought about changes. I plan on doing some racing next year, what changes would benefit me? Shorter swingarm, small tires?
I could go with a 450r swingarm, 04-05, that would get me an inch shorter and modern cheap parts. Shorter swinger, problem solved.
Next up, tire options. What would give the widest range of tire options? Regular old axle? NO! Kart axle with almost infinite about of ajustments. But how could I get that to work? I got it, my good buddy Ed Bergman that went to Ashtabula, OH and kickedwith his kart axle equiped Tri-Z!
After lots of texts and phone calls, I had a plan. Time to start ordering parts. First the bearings.
Wil they work?
Yes they will!
Test fitting.
Ok, next problem. Stock shock and linkage. It will work, but if I get it as low as I want, the linkage is too low. Now what do I do? Ah ha, I have a 200x shock! Time to test. No go, too short. Hum? Ah ha, 350x shock will work! Now I am waiting on a shock, so to be continued………..
