First ride with the new gopro

Wife bought me a new gopro for Christmas and I finally got a chance to try it out this afternoon. Its a dumb video and was just something to practice messing around with. Also it gets me one post closer to the 10th post, lol

Looks you got the angle of the camera figured out pretty well. Could be tipped up just a hair more if wanted. My first videos were all pointed way too far down.

I am proud of myself that I got it to work at all. Pretty cool how the phone works as the view finder. Next project is learning more about the editing software, havent figured out how to fade out the motor sound and fade in the music track, ect.

I want one to put on my bikes and sxs but just cant see spending the coin to get one. Plus they come out with a new one like every year :/ but everytime i see someone post a video with one i just want one even more. Ive had a couple of spills and witnessed others take spills that i wished i'd got on video. Which model do you have? Pretty cool you can use a smart phone now as the viewer. The dog is asking for it sooner or later! haha

I have a hero 3+. I was looking at mounting tips for cams online and with the mounts it came with I put one on the the top my helmet and another mount under the front of my visor. with that one you dont get the helmet at all, its kinda cool.

I dont know what they call it, but ive seen the "stick" type mount that some guys use for their SXS's to catch a whole view of them in cab as well as most of the machine(basically like taping it to the end of a stick and holding it out far enough to look back at them), itd be cool to come up with something like that that could capture the rider and their bike....hmmm.....would just suck in the event of a crash to get impaled haha

You know they make a cheaper one now right? For $129 plus a memory card.

I just got this one as a beater, but it works well for me at least. Downside to the cheaper one is you cant use your phone as a view finder, you can't swap out batteries but for 129 it's still a good buy and good camera as to start out with. I'll post a video so you can see the quality.

This is a few short clips of my brother testing out the GoPro, I got a handlebar mount and thats what the camera is hooked to in this video. He didn't have the waterproof case on it in the last clip thats why you see him turn it off as soon as the water comes over the handlebars Lol, but the camera was just fine.

Edit* YouTube must not have processed this video well at all. The non uploaded video looks a lot better. Here's some still shots of the video.

There's a group that puts on a motorodeo every summer for charity. They do pole bending and barrel racing. Here's a shot of me on the X leaving the starting line on the pole event. What a hoot that was, cant wait to do it again this summer!
