Newbee from NEPA. Think I'm having a midlife crisis

Sorta found this site by accident and got reading the posts by Mickey Dunlap and Mike Coe. Brought back some of my fondest childhood memories; racing against my friend and my brother on my 1982 185s in the backyard. I have to admit though, I was always Marty Hart!! So I read a little more stuff and happen upon the thread about a guy putting a 200sx motor into a 200x. Just so happens I have a good running 200sx in the garage so now I wanna build a 200xsx too!! Partly to relive my youth, part conversation piece, but mostly so I have a 3 wheeler to ride with my 3 yr old when he inherits my first machine; a 1982 Honda 70.

So, anyone have a 200x roller they wanna part with?

Well, since I stopped stockcar racing, I need another disease... I mean hobby. I can tell from your 350x Jays that you have the disease, lol? I want to race 3 wheeler but my wife says "NO WAY"! You still do the ice racing? She might be ok with that rather than motocross. Any help on finding a 200x is appreciated

Look up the thread about pensyltucky. It's a whole weekend event and if weather permits, there will be ice racing too. Bring the 70 and race that! You won't be alone. Me and my buddy are bringing a 200x, 225dx, 110, and a 70.

Ghost, thanks for the info. Might be fun to just go watch cause unfortunately, our 70 is not restored yet. Been sitting since about 1990. Had it running briefly for my daughter about 10yrs ago but it needs to be gone through completely.

Brandon, I bought a 85 Big Red last year and liked it but I want something a little sportier. Had to sell it anyway to pay bills so I figure now is the time to get the trike I really want.

Oldskool, I am in the very NE corner of Pa. I've been to AOAA and SSRT but (GASP) I take my King Quad 750 for those rides, lol! If you've ever heard of Tar Hollow ATV rides, we put those on. Just getting back into 3 wheelin cause I want my son to start on 3 wheels

Actually from my understanding 88 was the last BR made in the UK or Canada. Check out -( by Billy Golightly on 02-12-2010 09:02 PM Number of Views: 31629 )

AOAA is right in my backyard. Litterly like a 5 minute ride. I use to ride my trike up there all the time before they closed it off and charged you money for the same experience. Wish they would put a track or something in. They promised so much that never or didn't happen yet.

I still ride up there now and then. Shhhh. Just don't stop for strangers lol.

But if you still have a machine your welcome to come to pensyltucky. Hell some people are bringing extras for when people break down lol. If you have Facebook join a group called TRUPA. All trike people from pa. That's how we stay in touch for events and rides and all.

Oldskool, I've heard of a lot of people who still ride AOAA w/o paying. I'm getting too old and have too much to lose to be constantly looking over my shoulder so I tend to stick to the "pay and play" places. AOAA was a nice day run but we have to trailer 3hrs each way to do it so we usually only go for benefit rides. If I get something decent built, I'll look you up if oyu know safe places.

If I remember correctly your only about 45 minutes away from me. You had the decked out 200x for sale a while back with the red and white tiger seat. You still have any trikes? We will have to ride sometime.

There is a TT race at Hamlin Speedway in May.Yes hitting the ice this weekend with some friends. Both TT and ice are a blast! The disease hit me hard.Sold off some nice trikes to build the 350x plus a good wad of cash.Where did you live again?I found a decent running 84 with some goodies on it.Rear brakes need work and seat cover.$800

I got a question for you more experienced trike'ers:
Am I better off paying more for something decent or buying a cheap one that needs a lot of work? Again, my plan is to build a 200x-sx that will be nice but NOT a garage-queen. From what I can find, $4-800 seems to get you some usable parts at best. $1,000-2,000 gets something ridable but prob still needs a few things. Are parts still available or would i have a hard time piecing a basket-case back together?
