    Unhappy I want some help with carberatur trouble.

    My 3 wheeler has been surging I only have to hold it half way and it starts backfiring don't know if it's the carb or what

    Whats the history of the trike? Did you just get it? Have you owned it for a while and it is just starting to show symtoms? Are you running it with an air filter/air box?

    Yes i have had it for a while it has been doing this for a while i got it last August. It has a filter box but not a filter it is a 1984 Yamaha 225 Trimoto it has had shifter problems before i want to fix it because it had a lot of power before it was like this recently it seems to have gotten a bit worse

    Should really get an air filter for it, all the dust and dirt is no good for the carb and lost of extra wear on your motor
    Mixing gas and haulin' ass

    Might be able to find a uni air filter for it, check on eBay, they're foam OEM replacement filters, I have one on my 250r works good decently priced
    Mixing gas and haulin' ass

    Ok I have looked for a carb rebuild kit on ebay but they are either separate parts or else a pieced together thing by someone else

    Your carb need a good cleaning, all of the jets need to be soaked in carb cleaner and all of the orifices need to be blown out with compressed air until dry. If you arent running an air filter than you are getting crud in the carb. It doesnt take much crap to screw up the way a carb runs. Maybe even get a service manual that way if you have any other problems you will have a idea on how to solve it. Ytms are solid trikes and require little maintenance and are very enjoyable.
