My lighting setup on Big Red

i wasnt very impressed with the stock headlight on big red so i decided to find a led light bar to mount on the rack. since i had just put a 6" light bar on my xr650l i decided its money well spent. i ended up finding a 10" 48watt led light bar, and a 35watt 6000k hid conversion the install was pretty easy for both lights. i welded some tabs to the rack and put a switch in. the rubber boot fit over the back of the hid bulb.

I'm confused Jones..you stated that it was a LED light kit you installed.

But the ebay link in your reply is for a Xenon light kit for a motorcycle..

    Am I missing something??

I'll ask the same question again, but this time perhaps clearer..could you provide a link to the kits you installed(LED also)?

I looked at it also and I'm not seeing the same thing as you have installed on your BR. See HID lighting not LED Bar.

Ok sorry to clarify the hid conversion is a kit that's plug n play I put it into the stock headlight housing. The led light bar wasn't a kit but just the light I looked on my ebay and the seller isn't sellling them anymore so I don't have a link for it. There pretty much all the same in the 10" size. I'll post a better pic later

Nice, I like it. Was it an easy install? Basically a plug and play or was there much more to it? I'm gonna take this route I think with the HID.

Pretty much just plug n play. I had to modify the rubber grommet on the bottom of the light housing and one of the tabs on the bulb where it fits into place on the housing needed to be filed down to fit. The light bar makes the majority of the light and the hid is more focused and better for long distance light. If your just doin hid then if go 55 watt

Ok, will do. Unless, of course I go with the LED. How do you have that hooked up?
