    Uni outerwear for my 85 250r. need help!

    What type of outerwear do you guys use on you uni filter? All I can find is a kn style.

    If you are using a UNI filter you really don't have to use an outerwear. Foam filters are more absorbent to smaller or any contaminents in air. Now K&N are a different animal those flow air but hold not many air contaminants that is why outerwears are used on K&N filters.

    I've heard that as well. Just wanted to see if its possible. Headed to the dunes and want to be extra pre cautious. Thanks though!

    Panty Hoooser!!...I just bring stuff to clean and oil my filter half way though the week, cant say i have had a sand ingestion related problem yet.

    Just keep a spare, clean pre-oiled filter in a 1 gallon freezer zip lock and change when needed.

    Coat the sides of the airbox with thick wheel bearing grease, the sand/dirt will stick to it instead of the filter...mostly.

    Duning since 1979, never had a problem.
