    Basket case found!

I found/bought a trashed '85 Tri-Z a few days ago. I will post pic's as soon as I get it dug out of the guys garage (its really buried under junk) I will do a full restoration on it, as mostly stock. I will share the build on this forum topic.

His wife's kid owned it since new, wrecked it decades ago. Then died in some kind of accident. So its important to the family to see this trike restored.
I think the engine is solid and would run with a good clean up. But the major problem is the axle is bent at a 90 angle. I have a replacement on a shelf. Then I know it will need cables, and plastic, both of which isn't a big deal. Otherwise I think this will be a fun build.

    (edit: for fact correction)

Its been a long time since I created this topic as I wanted to actually make progress before posting anything. So these first pictures will be a let down as they show how I found the TriZ, and a 200S from the same seller. I got both of these in this condition shown for a few hundred bucks. It turns out both run, but need lots of work.

Its got some silly stickers, and rear tires. Otherwise its completely stock. I plan to keep it as stock as possible.

Nice find on the Tri-Z, can't wait to see it working! I'd love to have a Tri-Z myself. That 200s looks to be in pretty nice shape as well, great find!

    Replies to above:

You guys seeking trikes should come to Missouri. I could point you to a few dozen trikes from trashed condition, to almost new hardly used condition within an hour or so drive from St Louis. Most are Honda's, but there are a few Yamaha's here and there.

My "unicorn" has always been the old Kawi 250R's. I've only had 1 chance to ever own one decades ago. But back then my dad said "no they are too fast". So he took me to purchase a Banshee! Yeah, my dad is crazy like that!
