    86 200x head.

Hi i recently got a 86 200x it runs great, but is pretty beat up. had to get all new plastics, rebuild the forks and put a new axle from a 250r on it. the one exhuast bolt on the head is stripped out and the other exhaust bolt is gone and so is the part of the head that it threads into. so i need to replace the head and the 86 heads are hard to find and are way outpriced, i was wondering if a trx 200sx head would work and if so which camshaft would i use and setting the valve clearances and all that.

It's possible with a good machine shop. I've seen some clapped out parts come back good as new. Have to weigh the cost of that fix vs another head.

86-88 200sx head should fit with little to no mods. How about some pics of the trike and damaged head.

The 200sx heads work just fine , I have used them with no issues bolt and go .
Cams are probably the same but a quick measurment if you have both , I would use the cam with the taller lobes btw .

repairing current gead is not possible as i dont have the chunk that broke off. I will probably try an 200sx head. just wasnt sure if i needed to get an sx cam too. i see the timing chain for both bikes is the same part number. i was hoping to use my cam with the valve that come with the sx head.....
