    Smile Drilled Keihin jet is a number????

    Okay, when I jet I use a nice set of drills and step it up to a good color. Local shop won't let me place my drill in the jet to obtain a size.

    I am at .063 on a Keihin FCR long hex.

    Anyone know if that's a 160 170 180 etc.?? Thank you.....

    A 1/16" bit = .0625
    A wire size #52 = .0635

    I don't show a .063 = 1.6mm Where did you get that? I thought I had every drill bit!...LOL

    A 1/16" bit fit perfectly in a #160

    Let me know if I can help out, I have every jet size from #110-#192

    Thanks so much guys!! I can tell I'm very lean but thats probably because the last thing I did was pop on a ported head and an FCR carburetor. And 13 discs on a Supertrapp.

    Thanks again and see you soon Ben!!

    Good info in this thread. Pull a few disks out of the ST and set out for some plug chops.

    As onformula 1 says . . .063 = 160 keihin

    Fuel flow thru a jet is affected by a few different factors these are length of jet, size and shape of taper entering and exiting the hole, rifling and hole size . . rifled jets should neve5r be drilled . . because the taper affects the jet a non rifled jet should not be drilled more than 2 sizes larger and really just 1 size would be preferable, otherwise it gets difficult to know what that jet really equates to in a non drilled jet.

    Keihin jets are easy, the following is an example.

    100 = 1.00 mm

    155 = 1.55 mm

    170 = 1.70 mm

    Some number drill sizes fall between mm drill sizes and vise versa so you need a drill size chart . . mm drills might be a bit hard to find . . try an industrial hardware store, tool supply or graingers if you need them and can’t find them.

    This chart has number and metric drill sizes.
