ATC 70 pullstart spring is driving me insane, is there a secret?

So I screwed up and when attempting to put a new rope on my pull start for my atc 70 the recoil spring came out. This is much easier to do on a 200. Is there a secret to these so I dont end up thworing all the pieces to this thing out into the street?

You can't do it bare handed. Best bet is leather gloves an a pair of c clamp vice grips.

You can do them bare handed. I did a video putting a spring in a deep dish 110 pull starter. I have the video posted here. Direct link only: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTIwKryf5Qs

I did a Atc70 recoil last year in the trails with only a screw driver on hand. Took less than 15 minutes to be fixed and installed.
    Hope it helps.
