So are you saying that it doesn't go into gear?

Go easy on that rear fender. You can't get them any more and when you do find them they cost an arm and a leg. There aren't aftermarket ones with the storage compartment in the rear of the fender like that.

she wont go into gear the shifter detent piece im pointing at in the vid was in the wrong place . the 10mm bolt was way loose. so we will see if it was loose cause someone took it apart to look or it was the problem they didnt see so ill throw some loctite on it and see if it works. and she wasnt laying on the fender just the tire and handlebar. i wouldnt let that happen to her. i just still am shocked to find any 3 wheeler in this shape that hasnt been rebuilt.

Yup, I've seen those loosen up. Make sure the spring isn't pinched under the detent arm when you tighten it up, and that the shoulder bolt locates properly in the arm. If the bolt is tight and you can pry the arm back with a small screwdriver, and have it snap back with spring action, you're good. Also, try pushing in on the shifter shaft (towards the shift star) when shifting it with the case cover off- the case cover is what holds the shaft tight against the star.

I love the vinegar tank cleaning. I used to use pool acid. Vinegar is easier to use.

    Nicely done for $100

I'm going to be trying the vinegar trick this weekend on an 83 200 I'm saving for a buddy.

Swap out that front tire for a Kenda Front Max.
