    250es bearing stopper RH side

I recently acquired an 1985 250es and while changing rear bearings I found that it was missing the RH side bearing stopper. Does anyone have one that can take measurements with a caliper and take pics of the measurement . I have a lathe and will be making one. I'm in dire need of this part.

Flyingw I am missing the one on the right. Bigred22 he is right. They are different in siz . I think the previous owner may have busted it while changing bearings. I just bought one on eBay and will be making extras just in case. Thanks guys for helping. Luckily I found one on eBay.

Ok good. When you set the bearings in the left axle tube, did you set the bearings all the way down in the tube?

Flyingw yes I ran the bearings all the way into the left tube. Is it right to drive them all the way in? Also there is a 200 br speedo installation setup on eBay for 165.00 so if there is a place to put it on here someone may want to do so.

Well I ran into a problem while removing the header bolts. Drilled and tapped the old header bolts out and started bolting out the head and the head stud started pulling out. I backed out the stud and surely pulled about 3\4 of the threads out. So its time to order some timeserts and fix the pulled threads. It was torqued to 30fbs. when it pulled out.

If you look in the manual for the left axle tube bearing installation, it says to use a bearing installation tool. What the manual does not tell you is how deep the bearings are supposed to be set. All the way down is too deep. The bearing tool sets the bearings 10mm below the outside lip of the axle tube. If you drive the bearings all the way down, it shifts the axle to the right.

10-4 flyingw I'll reset them tomorrow. I'm still waiting on the stopper to come in and with the head stud setback it will give me something to do. And thanks captain I'll be sure to do so next time.

Good, I was hoping you hadn't reassembled the rear end yet.

Was about to and ran into another problem. The new axle I bought is too long and I have to ship it back. This thing acts like it never wants to be put back together!

Danbur55 thanks. How's 60.00 plus the ride? But give me a couple days so I can resolve the issue with the other.
