    big red plow question

I have the cycle country plow on my big red - was curious what everyone is using for a pin to hold the blade angle. Some of the newer plows are different setup - but the older ones seem to require a pin to hold the blade position angle. I been using a bolt but they keep snapping....

Get yourself a grade #8 bolt. They are usually black in color and have three raised lines on the head, in a radial pattern. IF you snap the grade #8, your next post will be: " How to straighten a bent frame ".

    Grade 5 has three lines.

    Grade 8 has six lines.

Grade 8 can be black oxide or gold zinc plated.

You can also you a metric bolt which is class 12.9 and will say 12.9 on the bolt head.

Also make sure the area that is breaking is covered by the bolt "Shoulder" and not on the treads. (Much stronger less hesitant to shear)
