    tire to gearing rato question

I have a question about the gearing in a 250 big red. I went and bought me 3 new interco swamp lite tires, rears on new steel wheels. like all imported tires, they don't run true to size. I know they are smaller than the ohtsu tires that came on the machine even though they have the same size labeled on them. Is this going to effect anything? I know it affects my quad but its a sport model. but I learned that the size on the tire isn't always accurate.

You'll maybe lose a little bit of top end speed. I wouldn't worry about it, the difference is going to be negligible.

Your red isn't a racer, when I change my dx from 22's to 20's in the summer it only drops my top speed by 3 for 4 mph . Your change in style will be notable because of the lack of ballooning on the newer tire.

If you calculate it out it equals about 5 MPH per 2"

(Measure the tire height, don't just read the sidewall, all tires are not the same)

the 25x12-9 swamp lites are 24 inches tall and 10.5 inches wide. the lugs are 3/4' deep so when it wears down, they will be around 23' tall.
