    81 250r fuel mixture

I removed the head on my R to find carbon deposits on piston and head. Just wondering what mixture ratios others are running and what oil any of you would recommend using. I run the factory 20:1 mixture. Doesn't smoke much at idle but likes to cause a smoke show at the top end. Any input will be appreciated.

Not sure on that particular engine but 20:1 is rather rich. May have something to do with the newer oils?

All of my premix ring-dingers have run very well at 40:1 using any variety of 2-stroke oil. Usually what is on sale when I need it.

36:1 is what I run with HP oil. Castor is a great oil as well. If you go the bean oil route, I suggest 40:1

That top end smoke show is likely all the excess oil in the bottom of your cases getting thrown up into the hot pipe. I'd back off that 20:1 unless you regularly hold it at WOT for more than 15 seconds at a time. That said a little smoke never hurt anything and depending on how many hours are on your engine those deposits aren't that bad. Try 32:1 and make sure it's jetted correctly.

Keep everything the same but drop your main jet two sizes test then do a plug reading
