    Service use 3 wheelers



    I know they existed. Anyone ever run across any of them. Police, fire, ems, beach patrol? I remember seeing them as a kid. I think even Border Patrol had some.

    I used to see them a lot as a kid. Although I don't recall the riders wearing cutoff shorts, trucker hat, sweater scarf, and high striped socks. But then again I have drank and slept since then so who knows. I wish I could find one. Maybe like a Hazmat team edition, that would be nice.

    Yeah I'm pretty sure this is a still off some 80s B rated beach bum movie. I ran across it on a random google search and it jogged my memory about not seeing any recently.

    Pretty sure some kawasaki 200's or 250's were used as police bikes.

    The Kawasaki police 250 was basically KLT250 Prairie with white plastic, metal case/trunk, flashers, and radio. I think they made something like 400 of them. Some were donated to 1984 Olympics for security detail. Some served in Natl/State parks and beach patrol. I would imagine they would have been nice to put-put through crowds at 1-3 MPH or to serve in game control or such.

    Memory escapes me but there was a member a while ago who had collected quite a few of the police kawi 250s...they were pretty minty if I remember correctly. A forum search could be your friend

    all last year a mint Olympic klt250 was forsale on jersey shore craigslist. not sure what they wanted for it.
